The Museum of the Imperial Palace of the Manchukuo

Spot Introduction

The Museum of the Imperial Palace of the Manchukuo stands on the site of the former Puppet Manchuria Imperial Palace and is now a national-level museum. This architectural complex, built in 1932, covers an area of 137,000 square meters and consists mainly of the Qinmin Building, Huairen Hall, and the Imperial Exhibition Hall, fully preserving the architectural style and interior furnishings of the Puppet Manchuria period. As the most complete relic of the Puppet Manchuria in China, it is not only an important historical witness but also a crucial base for patriotic education.

The museum boasts a collection of nearly 100,000 cultural relics, including a wealth of precious historical documents, photographs, and physical materials. The Qinmin Building, a political center of the Puppet Manchuria, blends Chinese and Japanese architectural styles and retains the original appearance of meeting rooms and offices from that period. Huairen Hall, once the bedroom of Emperor Pu Yi, showcases the daily life scenes of the last emperor. The Imperial Exhibition Hall displays a wide range of palace supplies, including porcelain, calligraphy and painting, furniture, etc., reflecting the lifestyle of that time.

As a national first-level museum, the Museum of the Imperial Palace of the Manchukuo not only fulfills the functions of cultural relic protection and exhibition but also actively carries out academic research and patriotic education activities. Thematic exhibitions and academic seminars held annually provide an important platform for the public to deeply understand this period of history. The museum also features a digital exhibition hall that restores historical scenes through modern technological means, offering visitors a more intuitive experience.

In recent years, the museum has continuously enriched its exhibition content, launching permanent exhibitions such as the “History of the Puppet Manchuria Exhibition” and the “History of the Anti-Japanese War in Northeast China Exhibition,” and regularly holding temporary exhibitions.
